Frequently Asked Questions for Accelerated Students

What is an academic session?
Please visit our multiple start term explanation page to learn about our academic sessions.

What is WebXpress?
WebXpress is the University’s online system that allows students to register for classes, pay bills, check financial aid, print copies of schedules and transcripts, and obtain final semester grades. WebXpress usage is required for all Stevenson University students. For instructions on how to obtain a WebXpress login and password, see our help page.

How do I register?
Current accelerated students must register online using WebXpress. New accelerated students will register by appointment through their department representative.

When can I register?
Students may begin registration in accordance with the published registration dates. Students registering within 10 days of the beginning of the semester will have a delay in getting a BlackBoard login.

What does it mean to drop a course?
Dropping a class means the student is no longer enrolled in the class. A dropped class does not appear on the student’s transcript and is not calculated in the student’s GPA. Dropping a class may affect financial aid. Please consult the Financial Aid Office to determine the impact of the dropped class.

What is the deadline for dropping a class?
A class must be dropped by the Monday after the session begins. Classes that are dropped will receive a full refund. Check the enrollment calendar for specific dates.

How do I drop a class?
To drop a class online, fill out and submit the online Accelerated Class Add/Drop form.

What does it mean to withdrawal from a class?
A withdrawn class appears on the transcript with a grade of “W” which does not have an affect on the GPA. Withdrawing from a class may affect financial aid. Please consult with the Financial Aid Office to determine the impact of the withdrawn class. Please note: there is no refund for class withdrawals.

What is the deadline for withdrawing from a class?
The option of withdrawing from a class begins after the last day to drop a course and continues until the published last day to withdraw from a class. Check the enrollment calendar for withdrawal dates for specific sessions.

How do I withdraw from a class?
You can withdraw by completing the Accelerated Class Withdrawal form.

How do I withdraw from all registered classes?
Students must come to the Adult Programs Office and complete a “Withdrawal from the University Form” or you may download the form.

How will dropping or withdrawing from a class affect my academic progress?
Dropping or withdrawing from a class may prevent the student from taking the next class in the sequence because prerequisites will not have been met.

What happens when a course is cancelled?
Students are contacted as soon as possible when a decision is made to cancel a course. Students have the option of full refund or enrolling in another course. The advisors in the student’s major will be able to assist in selecting another course.
