Degree Audit Information
What is degree audit?
Degree audit is a function of WebXpress which lists requirements for your major and then identifies where requirements are fulfilled, in progress, or still needed. It does not replace academic advising.
Why is it valuable?
Degree audit will allow you and your advisor to be able to monitor exactly where you are in the progression toward a degree. You will also be able to use the “what if” function to see what would happen if you change your major.
Where is it located?
Log into WebXpress. Select “Program Evaluation” on the Student Menu. When your Active Program appears, check the box and click “Submit.” It will take a few moments for your Degree Audit Academic Evaluation to appear.
What if I changed my program of study?
You can use this option to view the requirements for other programs and see how the courses you have taken would be applied. Select a program from the drop down box and click “Submit.”
Does every major have a program evaluation set up?
No, most programs have been set up in degree audit, but there are still a few in progress. We are working to get those up as soon as possible. If there is not one set up, the screen will appear blank. Minors have not been set up yet.
Some things to keep in mind when viewing your Academic Program Evaluation:
General Elective Program Requirements – Some programs require general electives. The Academic Evaluation does not have a general electives section. They will be listed under the “Other Courses” section. Upper level general electives may appear under the “Summary of 30 Upper Level Credits” section.
PE Courses – If you take more than one PE course, it should be subtracted from total credits completed as only one will count in degree requirements.
Transfer Credits – Accepted transfer credits (if applicable) will appear.
30 Credits at the Upper Level Section – This section is merely a summary of everything that has been taken so far that is at the upper level.
If you see any areas where requirements do not seem to be correct, or if you have any problems or questions, please contact Kim Ronnenburg at 443-334-2207 or Judy Mancini at 443-334-2214.
